Within the team domain of 'Creative Learning", we identified a problem space pertinent to lacking focus on cultivating creative learning in Australian early education. Creativity through education brings about many direct and indirect benefits in a child’s social, academic and emotional development including, complex problem solving, self expression, active collaboration and innovation [8].
The concept "Twisted" was ideated in response to the problem space, aiming to reintroduce creativity to Australian classrooms - ultimately enhancing student's experience and engagement. Twisted is an interactive creative learning concept that teaches colour theory to Grade 1 students through interaction with the Twisted mat and touchscreen wall where users are encouraged to explore their creativity through creating and mixing new colours.
